Well, I was hoping to break even on the gorging of calories this Thanksgiving – I won’t. But I’m going to try.
I’ll be visiting family outside Madison, WI this year, and my father is running in their 10k Thanksgiving morning. It is called the Berbee Derby and the second time I’ll enter it (in the last five years). A nice little course in Fitchburg where they close a few roads and the end sends you up a lightly challenging incline.
I can’t say I’ve read up on the fund, but it is a fundraiser for Technology Education. Seeing as I’m an electrical engineer, I can’t argue that. Some people need the feel good, I just like the run and I suppose it is an added bonus.
He is shooting for 45 minutes. Not bad at 62 with no practice. I’ll try to push us closer to 40. Next job is to pick up a new pair of shoes of course. Any suggestions? I;m looking for something smaller and simpler…
